Farmers Marts (R G Jones) Ltd is a co-operative society established in 1953, operating across Meirionnydd and the surrounding areas. The co-operative society was formed by a group of forward-thinking farmers who invited shareholdings to purchase a number of livestock markets across North Wales.

We provide Specialist Auctioneering, Valuation, Estate Agency and property related advice services

We are a proactive and adaptable team who are continuously adapting to change and delivering new services such as our new online auctions which have proved to be extremely successful.

RG Jones is the professional services branch of Farmers Marts, operating across North Wales. We offer our services from our offices in Dolgellau and Bala and have advertisement space in Machynlleth. Our coverage across North West Wales allows an excellent spread in the area.

As a small team we endeavour to provide a personal and professional service at all times.

Farmers Marts (R G Jones) Ltd collect personal information about you and/or your company when you trade with us, or request/obtain or fill in via website an entry form to one of our mart sales or online sales. We may inform you of forthcoming sales, business updates, professional updates and marketing.

Your information will be collect about you and/or your company when you contact us by any means, i.e. by phone, email, social media and/or visit our website. Only the necessary information to carry out your request will be collected, i.e. your personal information that is needed with regards to any of our sales, eg. your name, address, email, telephone and/or mobile number, VAT registration number, any other relevant registration details and details of the items to be sold or bought.

We may hold proof of address, proof of identity as well as other contact information of you on our data system. This may include copies of passports, utility bills, tax reference and driving licence. This information is held to check identity for money laundering and counter terrorism purposes and is a legal requirement (Anti Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Act 2018)

Collected for what purpose

The information collected about you is to enable you to trade in our markets. If you have entered items or bought items in any of our sales, your name and address and contact details will be kept on file in order in order to send details of future similar sales to you by post/or by email.

With regard to the Estate Agency side, we may collect and process your data with your consent, to be including in our mailing list of properties/rentals.

We also hold customer and shareholders data to allow us to process necessary business transactions so we can operate and administer the products and services which we provide. These include:

  • To enable us to receive and produce cheques, BACS payments and invoices.
  • To enable us to complete sales and purchases of land and property.
Your personal details will not be shared with any other company, unless you have give us your consent to do so. You may withdraw any consent you have given us at any time.

Marketing

In order to keep you informed, we may send details of aspects of our work which may be of interest to you via our own websites/Facebook. We also may forward details of forthcoming sales, market trading reports, details of property sales, professional information on our services, etc, to you by email. We also use WhatsApp and a mailing lists provider. Data is also held by third party CRM software’s used by the company:

Access to your information and correction

Sharing your information

If you hold an account with us we may use a credit reference agency to obtain financial information about you. Also, if it is necessary to engage the services of a debt-collecting company we will share your details with them to enable them to carry out their work.
